I want to refinish my melamine kitchen cabinets. Any tips on adding moldings or trim?

What you want to is a great idea to update. Here are some articles to help you out:
You could also consider adding frosted glass panels to a cabinet door or two.
You could even make it a bit more zen by adding bamboo placemats underneath the trim in the middle of the door.
